Synopsis
Isadora's family is seriously screwed up—which comes with the territory when you're the human daughter of the ancient Egyptian gods Isis and Osiris. Isadora is tired of living with crazy relatives who think she's only worthy of a passing glance—so when she gets the chance to move to California with her brother, she jumps on it. But her new life comes with plenty of its own dramatic—and dangerous—complications . . . and Isadora quickly learns there's no such thing as a clean break from family.

This is one of those books where I came out of it remembering absolutely nothing about it. I had to read some reviews myself before I remembered anything.

It wasn't a bad book. It wasn't great. It was just average, The plot seemed interesting but I don't think Egyptian mythology is for me. I tried the Kane Chronicles but didn't really like it. Egyptian mythology needs more research put into it, and this one didn't have enough research.

The whole concept was very confusing. I didn't understand what Isis or Osiris were and all the crazy relatives like Hathor and Horus. It was all laid out there and explained basically but I don't think they were established and developed well enough.

From what I remember, Isadora was a very sassy character who made very witty remarks and I liked that about her. She wasn't afraid to stand up for herself and she wasn't bothered about other people's opinions. Tyler was the perfect, loyal best friend and managed to get so close to Isadora in such a short time. I didn't like Ry that much. He was just too similar to other YA male protagonists whom I don't tend to like.

Apart from that, I don't really have much to say about the book. It was good, but it could've been better. If you like mythology or the Kane chronicles,  you should give this a shot.
