What Interested Me:
I was in the mood for a fluffy contemporary set in the beach and I found this little gem of a book and requested it.

This book has a PERFECT contemporary plot. I absolutely adored all the scandals and summer flings. This book practically screams summer contemporary. There are lots of oohs and aahs in the romantic moments and a lot of secrets are revealed. And, best of all, a delicious summer scandal.

Nessa was so sweet and innocent! She was so loyal to her best friend, and she knew she could trust her with anything. I felt so sorry for Nessa, as even though she was such a good girl, she had no family to appreciate it. It was too bad that Nessa's mom was an alcoholic. Nessa's relationship with Z was so cute!

Jacie was the complete opposite of Nessa. She was very outgoing, very friendly, courageous and definitely an extrovert. Her decisions with her romantic life in this book really, really bothered me. I didn't think it was possible for her relationship with an older man to work. It really annoyed me how she kept saying she loved him, even though she barely knew anything about him as a person.

I loved the relationship between Nessa and Jacie. They were so different, but they managed to be the best of friends all the time! They always had each other's backs and they were always loyal to each other. Even when they were in fights, and even if they disagreed about something, they always worked it out, and they always worried about each other. Nessa was the one who kept Jacie from going overboard, and Jacie was the one who challenged Nessa. They were perfect as best friends.

Other minor characters:
Aunt B was so sweet and kind and caring! Loved her
Dave was an asshat and he deserved to die. I hated him.
Z was okay, he was very sweet and thoughtful at times.
Grant was so sweet, even after everything that happened.
Trish... I just felt sorry for her because she was being deceived.

Writing Style:
The story from Nessa's point of view was more tame, but more interesting. With Jacie, the story was supposed to be more exciting, but it felt boring. Her relationship with the older man kept going back and forth, and I hated that. Her story was too repetitive, and she had too much self pity.

The writing itself was okay, but it wasn't anything special. It was a typical contemporary writing style. That ending broke my heart.

It is a great, fluffy contemporary. I definitely recommend to all contemporary fans. Definitely a beach read.
